Iconographic reading
The World card depicts a nude dancer suspended within an oval laurel wreath, legs crossed in a figure-four pose echoing the Hanged Man's reversal, with two wands crossed behind her. The four evangelist symbols—angel, eagle, lion, and bull—occupy the corners, each reading a book, while the dancer's violet scarf spirals around her. This synthesis of cardinal directions and completed circuit signifies integration, wholeness, and the successful conclusion of the Fool's journey.
From the source
"As this final message of the Major Trumps is unchanged—and indeed unchangeable—in respect of its design, it has been partly described already regarding its deeper sense. It represents also the perfection and end of the Cosmos, the secret which is within it, the rapture of the universe when it understands itself in God."
— A.E. Waite, The Pictorial Key to the Tarot (1911) (public domain)
As feelings
UprightThey feel complete and deeply fulfilled, as if a long journey has finally closed. There's gratitude, quiet pride, and expansive love that wants to include you in their whole world. Behaviorally, they commit openly, celebrate you, and treat the relationship as a destination reached rather than a question still open.
ReversedThey feel unfinished, restless, and quietly frustrated, sensing something essential is still missing. Closeness may feel performative or stalled, and they hesitate to fully land. Behaviorally, they pull back, delay commitment, chase closure elsewhere, or keep one foot out the door while insisting everything is fine.
🜂 Upright
The World is the dancing circle of completion. A significant chapter closes in triumph — celebrate, integrate the lesson, and allow a richer cycle to begin.
🜲 Reversed
Reversed, you are one step from the finish line. Tie up the final loose ends instead of rushing to the next beginning.

FAQ
What does The World upright mean?
The core upright keyword is "completion" — this energy is flowing naturally in your situation right now.
Is The World reversed a bad card?
Reversed is not a bad outcome; it signals energy turned inward or blocked, with the key "almost there". Settling things before acting is the starting point.
What is this card's Yes/No leaning?
Upright leans YES, reversed not yet. For a formal verdict use the 3-card Yes/No tarot, reasoning included.
Can tarot answer specific dates?
Tarot reflects "the current flow and options" better than exact dates. For timing, ask "how much longer should I wait" instead.
