Dreaming of a Flood
🌙 Does this dream sound familiar?
Water rises through the house or the street becomes a river you can't cross.
🏮 The folk interpretation
Folk belief: a flood dream warns of emotional overwhelm or sudden change. Clear water means cleansing; muddy water signals trouble. If you escape, you'll overcome; if trapped, seek help.
🧠 The psychological view (Jung)
Jung saw water as the unconscious. A flood mirrors feeling swamped by emotions or responsibilities. It's not a premonition but a sign you're currently overwhelmed and need to process feelings.
"The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely."
— C.G. Jung, Psychological Reflections
