Dreaming of Spiders
🌙 Does this dream sound familiar?
Spiders crawl across the wall, drop onto you, or spin webs around your bed.
🏮 The folk interpretation
Folklore sees spiders as omens of money or a coming letter. A single spider on the wall means small luck; a web around your bed warns of feeling trapped. Black spiders signal hidden worries, while killing one is said to bring bad fortune.
🧠 The psychological view (Jung)
Jungians view spiders as the shadow or Great Mother archetype, mirroring feelings of being caught in a web of obligations, fear, or creative stagnation. The dream reflects your present sense of powerlessness, not a future event.
"Man's task is to become conscious of the contents that press upward from the unconscious."
— C.G. Jung, Two Essays on Analytical Psychology
