Iconographic reading
In the Six of Pentacles, a merchant in a red robe and blue leggings holds an evenly balanced scale in his left hand while dropping coins into the open palms of two kneeling beggars; a third figure stands beside him, and six pentacles float above against a pale sky. The scale signals measured, impartial giving, the beggars' upturned hands show need and receptivity, and the merchant's upright posture embodies the power to dispense or withhold charity. Together they depict generosity, patronage, and the flow of resources between giver and receiver.
From the source
"Presents, gifts, gratification; another account says attention, vigilance; now is the accepted time, present prosperity, etc. Reversed: Desire, cupidity, envy, jealousy, illusion. "
— A.E. Waite, The Pictorial Key to the Tarot (1911) (public domain)
As feelings
UprightWhen the Six of Pentacles represents feelings, it signals generosity, gratitude, and a desire for balance. They feel moved to give support, share resources, or repay kindness, and want fairness in return. Behaviorally, they offer help, time, or gifts, while quietly hoping their care is noticed and reciprocated.
ReversedReversed, this card shows feelings of imbalance and resentment. They may feel used, underappreciated, or trapped in one-sided giving, or they may be the one withholding help out of pride or control. Behaviorally, they keep score, give conditionally, or pull back support to test whether the other person truly cares.

FAQ
What does Six of Pentacles upright mean?
The core upright keyword is "generosity" — this energy is flowing naturally in your situation right now.
Is Six of Pentacles reversed a bad card?
Reversed is not a bad outcome; it signals energy turned inward or blocked, with the key "strings attached". Settling things before acting is the starting point.
What is this card's Yes/No leaning?
Upright leans YES, reversed not yet. For a formal verdict use the 3-card Yes/No tarot, reasoning included.
Can tarot answer specific dates?
Tarot reflects "the current flow and options" better than exact dates. For timing, ask "how much longer should I wait" instead.
